Indiana Jones - The Adventure Collection (Special Editions of Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark / Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom / Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade) Let's face it, no DVD library is complete without the adventures of Indiana Jones. I hadn't watched these movies in years and thoroughly enjoyed becoming reacquainted with 3 of the most exciting action adventure films of all time- and this DVD set comes with some lightweight but very entertaining special features. Included are new introductions provided by George Lucas and Steven Spielberg that are highly informative but loaded with spoilers so don't watch them before the films. There are several mini-docs, the best dealing with the exotic (and not so exotic) locales used in the films. There's also a reunion of Indy's women where they discuss the challenges behind their memorable roles and storyboards from all 3 movies along with previews of the Indy Lego game. The handsome box and 3 disc sleeves are adorned with luscious artwork culled from unused movie poster designs. I actually worked on the poster and trailer designs for Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade, you wouldn't believe all of the gorgeous paintings that were commissioned but never used. A stunning Amsel painting adorns the front cover. You gotta get this one, could there be more satisfying weekend viewing? If "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" turns out to be a disappointment as some have suggested this will remain the definitive collection. Includes: Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom: Special Edition - the only one rated PG-13 and easily the darkest of the 3 movies, this one didn't do as well at the box office as the other 2. Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade: Special Edition - rousing from start to finish, I like this one the best. Co-star Sean Connery gives the franchise a massive boost. Product Information: The Raiders Of The Lost ArkArcheologist and university professor Indiana Jones must retrieve the mythic Lost Ark of the Covenant before the it gets into the hands of Adolf Hitler who plans on using its power to guarantee his global conquest. The Temple Of DoomIndiana Jones finds himself on a new adventure trekking across Asia with a gold-digging woman and a young child to rescue a village's missing children and find a magic stone. But along the way he must contend with an evil cult. The Last CrusadeRenowned archeologist and expert in the occult Dr. Indiana Jones returns for the 3rd and final Indy film. Teaming up with his father Indiana sets out to try and find the Holy Grail. Once again the Nazis are after the same prize and try to foil Indiana's plans. Format: DVD MOVIE TV on DVD Reviews: |
