TAX DAY
If you're like me and are disgusted after doing your taxes, take 10 minutes and laugh about the whole ordeal with The Honeymooners.

Some things never change...

LOVING LUCY
I can't explain it, but one of my favorite classic TV shows is Here's Lucy. I suppose it's because it's so silly and devoid of any pretense of reality. In this clip from the series, Lucy meets Charles Nelson Reilly at the customer service desk of a department store. Notice that what was considered slightly absurd in 1971 is now commonplace.

Hear the lady laughing over the rest of the audience? That was Lucy's mom and the guy you hear laughing loudly was Lucy's husband Gary Morton.

Gale Gordon was a big factor in the success of the Lucy shows. Here's the cast of Here's Lucy, Gary Morton and Bob Hope with Gale Gordon talking about his life in show biz. What was Gale's nickname on the set? They bleeped it!

Around this same time, Lucy talked with Dick Cavett about teaching comedy acting and the intricacies of shooting a three camera show.

The 'first lady of comedy' had a feisty and funny exchange with Dinah Shore in 1977 after her run on CBS was over, she spoke about meeting various first ladies.

Why doesn't some cable network start airing reruns of Merv and Dinah in the afternoons? I'd watch.

COMING TO YOUR TV

John Oliver: Terrifying Times
The Daily Show's gangly, quasi-absurdist commentator delivers a thought provoking, hysterically irreverent romp; an hour of too-clever, biting satire at its funniest. You'll bust a gut as John Oliver twists his pretzel logic around the unparalleled events of our time.

Every bit as funny as The Colbert Report, John Oliver: Terrifying Times is the best standup special I've seen this year, starring one of the hottest political comics on the scene today.

Here are some quick excerpts to let you know what's in store:

Unfair Trade
Oliver shows off his new business label
and introduces his outsourced joke writer.

Sticker Shock
Upon reflection, John thinks putting a sticker on
science textbooks isn't such a bad idea.

Soundtrack
You could set the most mundane scene to Starship's
"Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" and I'd cry.

Don't dare miss this one, it's definitely worth your time. John Oliver: Terrifying Times premieres Sunday, April 20 AT 10:00 P.M.
