COMING ATTRACTIONS The eerie affair begins with Homer attempting to vote for President with horrific results in a story inspired by actual chilling incidents. Then, Bart's Christmas present to Lisa sparks an intergalactic incident in a farcical twist on the Transformers movie. In a wry parody of Mad Men ('How to Get Ahead in Dead-Vertising'), Homer accidentally kills Krusty and discovers there's money to be made exploiting his image; that leads to an angry army of spirits descending from heaven to put a stop to celebrity impersonators. The very funny finale is a spot on satire of the venerable Charlie Brown holiday specials with Millhouse waiting in the pumpkin patch for the Grand Pumpkin. Too bad he actually shows up and spoils everyone's Thanksgiving. Or something like that. Wait until you see The Simpsons cast as the Peanuts gang. Classic! The Simpsons may be losing steam and beginning a slow wind down but Treehouse of Horror still crackles and pops with all the hilarity and ingenuity you expect. Too bad this isn't a weekly series by itself. Don't miss this Fox Sunday treat on November 2nd at 9:00pm ET/PT. Wednesday,

STOLE THE TV Comedy legend Rudy Ray Moore is dead at 81; he greatly influenced modern rap and hip-hop artists with his hilarious, filthy 'Dolemite' and 'Petey Wheatstraw' routines and movies. He was no rooty poot. Here's
a look at Sunday’s Mad Men Episode 12 “The Mountain
King.”
Betty Draper Is An Awful Woman:
Check out a sneak peek of Mad Men Season Finale “Meditations In An Emergency.” Sterling Cooper is in play and the office scrambles without Don. Betty learns some disconcerting news.
MAD MEN airs Sundays on AMC at 10PM ET/PT. Kevin Butler writes in regard to an earlier post: "The name of the character actor who played the hapless Sid to Chuck's wisecracking neighbor in the Right Guard commercials was Bill Fiore. I was lucky enough to meet Mr. Fiore in NYC many years ago and he told me that he had a ball working with Chuck in those commercials." Check out Kevin's tribute to the recently deceased Jack Narz. NBC's Crusoe debuted on Friday to weak numbers. Saturday Night Live's numbers are up a whopping 161% over last October. The show is getting primetime level ratings at 10.7 last weekend, that's a 24 share. It would have been the number 3 show for the week if late night shows were included with primetime Nielsen numbers. Tuesday,

STILL
GOLDDIGGING
Maria and fellow Golddiggers Linda Eichberg and Peggy Gohl have a boffo act called “The Showstoppers” and they're playing to big crowds wherever they go. No wonder, between the songs they entertain the crowd with behind the scenes stories about The Dean Martin Show and even invite audience members up on the stage to join them. For a finale they perform a rousing tribute to U.S. Veterans with a rendition of 'God Bless America.' These gals are keeping that grand show business song and dance tradition alive, offering audiences a rare opportunity to see what old school Vegas style entertainment was all about. Sunday,

SUNDAY
STUFFING I said it a few days ago and I'll say it again - if sales through this site is any indication, Carole and Paula in the Magic Garden (2 DVDs plus 1 CD) is a runaway hit! I thought Winky Dink & You would be a big seller but it may be a sleeper. You think this election is ugly? That's nothing compared to what went on in 1958: From now until Christmas I'm going to highlight some unusual gift ideas that will please almost anyone but wouldn't be what you might ordinarily consider. Like this wonderful book that reprints all of the Peanuts strips from 1967-1970, some consider these to be Schultz' best years. This award-wining series of books is top quality in every way, a very handsome volume, something you can pick up every once in a while and enjoy. From the product description: With intros by John Waters and Mo Willems! The Complete Peanuts 1967-1968 is a particularly Snoopy-heavy collection. In addition to seeing the beagle adopt multiple personas, this volume also sees the appearance of what would be Schulz's most controversial major character: Franklin. In Charles Schulz's The Complete Peanuts 1969-1970, Woodstock makes his first appearance, Snoopy is left in the Van Pelt family's care as the Browns vacation... and the Little Red-Haired Girl moves away. And it's only $31.50 with free shipping if you order now from Amazon. Think of the gas money alone you'll save by not having to go to the bookstore (that won't have it in stock anyway). If you have any unique gift suggestions that have worked for you, let me know! Sunday,

COKED OUT FOR STEVE MARTIN Starting yesterday on Howard TV On Demand, former child actress Maureen McCormick (The Brady Bunch) is interviewed by Stern about the wild dichotomy between her on-screen character and her personal life. On the nearly hour-long, totally uncensored appearance, McCormick speaks frankly about her double life: her experiences with sex, drugs, ruining a date with Steve Martin because she was “coked out“and the untold relationships between herself and her cast mates. She talks about partying at the Playboy Mansion and Wilt Chamberlain’s house, and trading sex for drugs with at least four different men. She’s cleaned up her act and now lives with her husband of 24 years and has a 19 year-old-daughter.
