John, Yeah, I'm not feeling well . . and I won't feel better until I get a kidney transplant. I'm going to use the VA hospital here, and the dr. tells me my kidneys are only working 10% . . . But I'm still working... Wizard King 2 will be out in a couple of months, and I have WK 3 about 1/2 done now. Keep

 This
was the last letter I received from Wally Wood. He moved to Van Nuys,
California shortly after he wrote this letter to try to sell The
Wizard King as an animated project. On November 2, 1981, apparently despondent over his failing eyesight and kidneys, Wally Wood took his own life.
But I did know of his frustrations and much more importantly to me, his drive and excitement to succeed and his optimism for the future. -
